Chengdu Rongcheng's head coach, Xu Zhengyuan, attended the post-match press conference after the game against Nantong Zhiyun in the 2024 Chinese Football Association Cup.

He stated, "Today, we fielded a starting lineup composed of our reserve players. Because we have a tight schedule with an upcoming away game against Wuhan Three Towns in the league, I was a bit concerned. However, the players' preparation and performance were excellent. We made some substitutions in the second half as well. I am glad that we were able to win, but the joy will only last until today. We will immediately focus on preparing for the next match and strive to improve our score."

When asked by the media, Xu Zhengyuan commented:

- "Rotating a large number of players is not easy for any team, but I believe in every player on my team. The coaching staff has been closely observing them during regular training, and the players have shown great dedication. Even for some players, this was their first game representing Chengdu Rongcheng, and I think they performed very well."
