2024-2025 WCBA season player technical and physical testing took place in Hefei, Anhui Province from October 23rd to 29th. The participating clubs were divided into two groups: Group A, consisting of 12 clubs, underwent testing from October 23rd to 26th, while Group B, consisting of 9 clubs, underwent testing from October 27th to 29th. All players from the participating clubs (excluding athletes from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, foreign athletes, and athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics women's basketball and 3x3 basketball competitions) were required to participate in the testing.

In order to further implement the strategy of becoming a sporting powerhouse and elevate the level of basketball, the Chinese Basketball Association has strengthened the entry requirements for the league's physical testing. The testing program for the WCBA league has been improved and revised, with a focus on practicality by conducting various tests based on real game scenarios. This provides players with test options that are more suitable for their actual situations and emphasizes the assessment of shooting skills in practical situations. This enables a more comprehensive and objective evaluation of players' technical abilities and physical fitness, further enhancing the international competitiveness of Chinese basketball players.

The testing consists of five parts: static measurements, dynamic physical fitness tests, shooting skills tests, comprehensive physical fitness tests, and optional tests. To enhance players' shooting abilities comprehensively and achieve more realistic and comprehensive testing results, the Chinese Basketball Association randomly selects two shooting skills tests as the testing projects for each season. For this season, the selected tests are spot shooting and top-of-the-arc moving shooting.

Furthermore, the testing standards have been optimized to better match the different technical characteristics of the players. Optional tests (half-intensity three-point shooting and 15-meter shuttle run 17 times) have been introduced, and athletes must choose one of these two tests.

During the spot shooting and top-of-the-arc moving shooting tests, coaches and players from teams such as Jiangsu Nansteel and Sichuan Yuanda Meile praised the comprehensive nature of the testing, which combines practicality and performance. They believe it will play a significant role in assessing the training effectiveness and development of women's basketball.

Through this testing, it is hoped that teams will further evaluate their training results, and players will have a more comprehensive understanding of their technical abilities and physical fitness, thereby enhancing the overall level of the league.

The testing includes static measurements (height, weight, wingspan, standing reach), dynamic physical fitness tests (agility movements in the restricted area, 3/4 court sprint, vertical jump, approach jump), shooting skills tests (spot shooting, catch and shoot, pentagon moving shooting, top-of-the-arc moving shooting), comprehensive physical fitness tests (bench press, squat), and optional tests (half-intensity three-point shooting, 15-meter shuttle run).
